Based in Melbourne & housed in the iconic heritage Georges Building, this co-working space is ideally placed for businesses to flourish. Once a department store, this three-floor fitout provides a premium space full of character. The design features many specialty areas ensuring this co-working space can cater to a wide range of requirements. These spaces include a variety of workspaces, relaxation rooms, gymnasium, serviced & non-serviced meeting rooms, member kitchen and a light filled, premium commercial cafe.

Conceptually, the design of the fitout celebrates the original heritage features of the building & the classic revival architecture of the Paris End of Collins Street. Moulded detailing, rich walnut timbers, muted colours & brass finishes have been utilised throughout, creating a premium aesthetic that is sympathetic to the heritage nature of the site. The existing building has a series of large skylights creating a unique opportunity to optimise layouts, ensuring that natural daylight floods through common areas. These light filled spaces feature hanging planters, allowing plants to grow and envelope the columns providing a biophilic connection within the interior. Within the café, the use of up lighting brings moodiness to the space after sunset, transforming the space into a more intimate venue, perfect for accommodating an evening event.

Hub Collins Street is a premium, refined offering of the Hub brand, creating distinction whilst maintaining continuity between this site & the other two Melbourne based Hub Co-Working spaces.

Alkimi studio were engaged for the post-tender detailing, design and construction delivery of the main workspace. The featured café, front of house areas & gymnasium, as well as post-PC works, were designed holistically by alkimi studio from conception through to completion.
